Thanks for the above info.
I have a query. Do I need TOEFL/IELTS as proof of english language proficiency, given that my entire education has been through english medium schools/colleges. I have just completed my Master’s and been accepted as PhD student abroad. However, I am afraid that procuring either an TOEFL/IELTS would delay my visa application to germany. Also, do you have any idea how long it normally takes to get a german student visa (for Indians).

Yes salma it is necessary to do ielts/toefl as it is a visa requirement bu the embassy, without it you are not going to get the visa..It will take 4 weeks to get the visa…Best of luck to you

No ielts/toefl score is required for a phd student to enter into germany..this is the upto date information from the consulate
